After 2 years of drawing and animation training at The Art Institute of Los Angeles, Patrick (Pat) Sweeney was given the opportunity to start a tattoo apprenticeship in his home town of Los Angeles. He apprenticed under and worked for Jen McLellan at Red Hot Tattoo from 2004-2014.
Happy to find a new home at California Gold Tattoo, Pat works late into the weekday evenings doing primarily bold and brightly colored illustrative tattoo styles. Lately, he is exploring his true artistic passion of creating large scale bio-mechanical tattoos that incorporate abstract flow and three-dimensional depth. Pat's bio-mechanical style can be described as a sort of organic, cybernetic armor shell that appears to be constantly evolving. When he's not tattooing, Pat splits his time with his family and the Pacific Ocean.
